We created Pinchot, a university for the common good, to develop business solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges. Schools at Pinchot include Bainbridge Graduate Institute, offering graduate studies in sustainable business, Organization Systems Renewal, offering graduate studies in transformational leadership and Pinchot Edge, offering professional and personal development, as well as the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship.
Our graduates lead the evolution of business by developing their own successful ventures, guiding established companies and organizations towards more sustainable futures, and bringing sustainable practices to the greater business community.
Pinchot offers four programs to further your commitment to the common good: two MBA degrees, an MA in Organizational Leadership, and several certificate programs, all designed to fit around your schedule.
MBA in Sustainable Systems
A unique blend of online distance learning and four-day weekend intensives each month, the MBA in Sustainable Systems is a flexible way for professionals to earn an MBA and still experience the immersive energy of the classroom. The first year provides systemic and historical context for your work, incorporating concepts of economics, sustainable business, social justice and systems thinking into each section. The second year allows you to build on your knowledge with focuses in finance, sustainable food and agriculture systems, sustainable built environment, or sustainable energy solutions.
MBA in Sustainable Business
220 & Change is home to our Metro MBA Program. In as little as 18 months, you’ll learn the fundamentals of business, in addition to a deep immersion in the cutting-edge aspects of sustainability as they relate to each of the core business topics. Classes meet each week, with opportunities to attend special workshops and events at our Islandwood campus.
MA in Organizational Leadership
The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership is part of Organization Systems Renewal (OSR), a leader in systemic organizational change for nearly 35 years. In this two-year intensive program, participants stay with the same cohort during the entire time, fostering trust and open sharing. As you study the theories that describe the workings of complex organizational systems, you’ll discover how to engage diverse perspectives and become a more confident leader.
Certificate programs take just one year to complete, and allow for complete immersion into the unique opportunities and challenges in sustainability in some of the core industry sectors that are changing business for good. Monthly in-person class sessions are held at Islandwood in the fall, winter and spring quarters, and at 220 & Change in summer. Each of our certificates prepare you to make an immediate impact in your field.
